Eleonora was putting on a gig to promote and launch her EP! She asked me to take photos but also film a few of the songs. This was a great opportunity to meet new people in the business and create connections. I was able to liaise with some clients who had enquired about me through word of mouth and existing connections, and it was a great event all round.
Technically, the room was very poorly lit (as it created a certain ambience and atmosphere) and therefore was a difficult, yet not impossible, factor to contend with. Thankfully my camera’s capabilities are advanced and I was able to turn my ISO right up and just about get the photos and video footage well lit enough to make out what was going on, and to get some good footage. However in some parts of the room it was extremely dark so there was a lot of post processing involved. I also was able to shoot partly in monochrome which helped with the ‘orange’ uneven light on peoples faces, and this fit with the vintage theme of the venue (Lazy Lounge, Leeds) and Eleonora’s style. Here are just a few of the images I took on the night (the actual performance was in video so that’s why there are no photos of her performing here):
