External Opportunity: Shoot for a make up artist

12th April 2015

As a result of contacting and working with the MUA who did the make up for the Tiger Lily Boutique shoot, I had the opportunity of shadowing and photographing alongside a photographer on another of her shoots. This shoot was a make up/face paint shoot for children and was on location at The Industrial Museum (we phoned up and got permission beforehand). This opportunity helped me in many ways,

– Observed and learnt from an experienced photographer
– Improved my skills in communicating, working with and directing children
– Shot ‘behind the scenes’, gained experience
– Learnt how to edit and select images better
– Improved communication with clients
– Relating with people of all different ages (spoke with the make up artists family and parents of children)
– Made the most of a ‘bad’ situation (the rain)
– Gained contact with photographer
